This is what Matthew Crawley, owner of the Golden Dawn in Ponsonby has to say about North of Bombay:

“Twice now we’ve had the good fortune to host North of Bombay as part of our Sunday entertainment. Aside from the decent swathe of fans and friends they bring with them, our regular punters (and most importantly our staff!) have all loved the shows. Nothing raises a smile like the power of the ukulele!”

  • Uke Playoff

Thanks to all who participated in the fantastic Uke playoff at Ponsonby Primary School Hall last Saturday, June 30. Congratulations to The Lost Chords for coming out winners, to runners-up, Ukes of Howick and to Hibiscus Ukes for coming third. To check out photos from the evening, check out Pedro’s gallery. Thanks to Clare and Caro for organising this event. We are now all looking forward to the Auckland Ukulele Festival on December 1.

  • Going live

Welcome to the new North of Bombay website. Things are happening fast. This coming Saturday, June 30, there is a Uke Play Off at the Ponsonby Primary School Hall, starting at 7 pm, where community uke groups from all over Auckland will be strutting their stuff. The event is organised by C-Change and admission is $12 per person or $25 per family. Proceeds go to the NZ Ukulele Festival Trust. North of Bombay will be playing three of their songs in the course of the evening.
